friday the 13th............

isn't really a bad day, and 13 isn't a bad number either! xD it's just the old folks saying this and that and everything under the sun but, i really don't believe in it.. it's like, bad luck can come almost everyday, right?

so, the number 13 comes up in our convo, why not discuss the beauty 13 has in it? well, 13 members, Super Junior! yes, you got it right! Super Junior, the boy band debuted in year 2005 and is still on the korean music industry, always successful in everything they do. :] the power of 13

the band debuted on year 2005 with only 12 members, from oldest to youngest: Leeteuk (the leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-In, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kibum. Han Geng is the only Chinese member in Super Junior and, TAKE NOTE: the first foreign celebrity to break into korea's entertainment industry. Kyuhyun was announced as the 13th member on year 2006, after being discovered by SME on a contest in Chin Chin radio.

before debut, Super Junior was first known as O.V.E.R. (Obey the Voice for Each Rhythm) and was said to be "The Gateway oto Stardom of Asia". soon the band was named Super Junior 05 and was said to be Super Junior's first generation. Super Junior was first announced as a project group, meaning after a couple of months the band will be separating, then after Kyuhyun was announced on being the 13th member, Super Junior became a permanent group. Kyuhyun was also announced as the youngest member of Super Junior then.

**The Super Junior 05 era

Super Junior 05 released its first single, "TWINS(Knock Out)" on November 6, 2005, and released it's first CD single named SuperJunior05(TWINS) on December 7, 2005. Super Junior was placed at #3 in the monthly chart of December 2005. Super Junior 05's second & last single from their cd single, "Miracle", was their first single to top the charts of South Korea and other countries such as Thailand. being a project group, SME announced the replacement of Super Junior 05 members to form the Super Junior 06. however, after the addition of the 13th member, Kyuhyun, Super Junior 05 became a permanent group and became Super Junior.

**The Attack of Super Junior

Super Junior released its first single as a permanent group, "U", on May 26, 2006. U was free to download at its first release and had over 400000 downloads within its five hours of release and exceeded 1.7 million downloads, with causes the server to crash down. the single also stayed at the #1 spot in five consecutive weeks on two of Korea's top music programs. U gave Super Junior a lot of awards and was crowned as SBS Popular Songs' Mutizen Song for three consecutive weeks. while making promotions for the single U, Super Junior released its second single, "Dancing Out", as part of SMTown's annual Summer Album. the second single collected two awards shortly after its release. with the release of U, Super Junior collected over seven awards in five of South Korea's music awards, thus Super Junior earning the Best New Group and some popularity awards.

**Other activities
an official fanclub for Super Junior was created, naming themselves E.L.F (Ever-lasting Friends). Super Junior's official balloon color was pearl sapphire blue.

at the coming of 2007, Super Junior started to have sub-groups. the first Super Junior sub-group was Super Junior K.R.Y, which stands for Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung, since the three was noted as having the best vocals in Super Junior. Super Junior K.R.Y debuted on November 6 2006. the second sub-group, Super Junior Trot, debuted on February 2007 and released its first single "Rokkugo". Han Geng, who was limited on performing into Korean programs, went to China for some activities.

**The crutial moment
four of Super Junior's members, Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, along with two managers, met a car accident on april 19 2007. the cause was the driver's lost control over the vehicle. Shindong and Eunhyun got minor injuries. Leeteuk had undergone an operation to remove the glass shards on his back and recieved 170 stitches on his face and back. Kyuhyun, who was seated behind the driver's seat, was injured with a fractured hip, fractured ribs, and faical bruises. Shindong and Eunhyuk was released in the hospital in a short matter of days, Leeteuk, who was said to have recovered fast was released in the hospital shortly after Shindong and Eunhyuk was released. Kyuhyun was hospitalized for two months and was released.

**Then, they sing happiness

Kyuhyun, being the most injured on the April 19 accident, was not able to participate in Super Junior's remake of H.O.T.'s song, "Haengbok".

**The Dont Don days.

the April 19 accident prevented their second album, Dont Don, to be released until September 20 2007. a day after the group performed their fist single, "Dont Don", for the second album live at KBS' Music Bank. within its first three days of release, Dont Don album was in close competition to Lee Soo Young's new release. at the end of the month, Dont Don successfully topeed Lee Soo Young's and Wheesung's album. after months of release, Dont Don became Super Junior's best selling album, and was the second best selling album of 2007. Dont Don was promoted at a short period, and quickly moved to "Marry U", their second single for the seoncd album. Super Junior was nominated in seven separate categories at the 2007 Music Festival. they won three out of seven nominations including Netizen Choice Award and Mobile Popularity, being the biggest winner of the night. they also won Best Artist of the Year (Daesang), and got the highest recognition of the night. Super Junior also collected two awards on December 14 2007 at the 2007 Golden Disc Awards. although defeated by SG Wannabe in winning the Daesang at the GDA, Super Junior won a Bonsang and the TPL Anycall Popularity Award, which the media are expecting Super Junior to win.

**Super Junior: Korea and the World

SME officially announced the third sub-group, Super Junior M (Mandarin), which will be concentrating their activities on China. the sub-group debuted on April 8 20078 at the 8th Annual Music Chart Awards, along with the release of their first single, a Chinese rendition of "U". the sub-group consists of Han Geng (leader), Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Henry Lau (who did a special appearance on Dont Don MV), and ZhouMi. the sub-group was hated by some fans because of the "Only 13" campaigne and against Henry Lau and ZhouMi to be part of Super Junior, while some fans support the sub-group.

the fourth and current sub-group, Super Junior H (Happy), debuted to prevent the group from fading away in the Korean music industry. the sub-group consists of Super Junior T minus Heechul, and Yesung. their first single, "Cooking? Cooking!", was released on June 8 2008.

Super Junior is currently having their 1st Asian Concert tour named "The First Asia Show- Super Show", which kicks off from Seoul on February 22-24. the tour will be on nine different Asian countries.

**Now and Forever, Super Junior
from 2005 to 2008, 13 boys have made a difference and has changed Korean music industry. they have influenced people to succeed, to continue life inspite of the trials. this is Super Junior.

To have many achievements in such a short time is no joke!

Super Junior for me is the greatest boy band that I see in my life and now they make history not only Korea but in other Asian Countries!

I’ve heard the song “Cooking?Cooking!” and it’s so cute!
